2015 SBIR/STTR Matching Grants in North Carolina

The FY 2016 Solicitation runs from July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016. For companies whose Federal notification of a Phase I award occurred between the start date (July 1, 2015) and release date (November 16, 2015) of this Solicitation, the Board must receive applications within 45 days from the release date of this Solicitation
Eligible applicants will be limited to those Phase I SBIR/STTR awardees that have, to date, received less than three matching awards under the One NC Small Business Program. Award amounts will be 50 percent of an applicant’s Phase I award, not to exceed $50,000

2014 SBIR/STTR Matching Grants in North Carolina

All North Carolina R&D Companies that have won SBIR or STTR grants in 2014 can take advantage of matching funds from the state. Applications are now being accepted under the FY2014-2015 solicitation of the One North Carolina Small Business Matching Funds Program. This program provides funding to help small businesses develop and commercialize innovative new technologies. Under the Matching Funds Program, the State of North Carolina will issue a matching grant of up to $50,000 to businesses that have been awarded highly competitive federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants.

The matching program has been in hold for the last few years, so we are excited to see it come back. We hope that in the future, NC state will also bring back grants that cover the cost grant application writing, ranging anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000.
